Upon your arrival at the Buyant-Ukhaa International Airport in Mongolia, you will meet the Mongolei Reisen crew and transfer to the 4 star hotel, conveniently situated in downtown Ulaanbaatar. After freshening up from your trip, we will spend the day with a walking tour of some of the capital’s most noteworthy sites starting out at the Museum of National History where you’ll encounter exhibits highlighting the amazing history of the Mongolian people. The museum has several interested exhibits of national costumes and some artifacts from time of Chinggis Khaan. From the museum, it’s a short walk to the heart of Ulaanbaatar, Sukhbaatar Square. Here we will see the statue of Sukhbaatar, the hero of the Mongolian revolution, the Parliament house, National Opera, and City Hall. found. In the evening, you will attend a performance of traditional dancing and singing. Mongolia is best known for the traditional form of throat singing, khoomii, and the horse-headed fiddle that accompanies many traditional songs. Overnight in hotel (L, D)

First thing in the morning your Suzuki bikes will be ready at your hotel for you to start riding to the countryside. Baga Gazriin Chuluu is a huge network of rock formations where Buddhist monks found sanctuary during the Stalinist repressions. Overnight in ger camp. (B, L, D)

Day 3: Delgerkhangai Mountain
The endless steppe and striking mountains will draw you through the vast scenery. At the day’s end you will arrive at the spectacular Delgerkhangai Mountain (1913 meters). Overnight in tents. (B, L, D)


Day 4: South Gobi

The South Gobi is the largest province in Mongolia. It is an area of ancient and unique natural wonders. The incredible open land will radically change as you speed by and the contrasts in the diverse sceneries may draw your attention so much you ride off the road! Overnight in ger camp. (B, L, D)

Day 5: Yol (Vulture) Canyon
The famous Yol canyon is a gorgeous valley walled by high rocky mountains. The remains of an ancient glacier are still accessible in its deepest crevasses. After exploring this canyon, we’ll ride to the remarkable Khongoryn sand dunes. They extend over 180km and rise to a height of around 120 meters. If you climb to the top you will hear the ‘singing sand’ effect in the wind and see the river meandering along the sands’ edge. The ride back east is spectacular; you may spot gazelles running and camels pasturing on the wide steppe. We’ll stop by the Bulagtai Mountain, famous for its ancient rock inscriptions and shrines and enjoy the “Stone Playground” popular with the local herder families’ children. Overnight in ger camp. Day 7: Bayanzag or Flaming Cliffs & Ongi monastery
This site was originally discovered and explored by the famous American adventurer Roy Andrew Chapman during the 1920s, when he launched several expeditions to excavate ancient dinosaur skeletons and eggs. At sunset these scenic red cliffs create brilliant color contrasts with the Gobi Desert’s bush flora. Mr. Jamian lives in this area, breeding camels with his large family. We will visit them to experience the nomadic way of life and take a short camelback ride. We continue our trail to the Ongi monastery ruins. Until the 1930’s, more than 500 monks practiced here. However, the site was destroyed during the Stalinist Purges and now remains a deserted witness to those tragic events. Overnight in a ger camp. (B, L, D)

Day 8: Karakorum city & Erdene Zuu
monastery Historic Karakorum city was founded by the descendents of Chinggis Khan and flourished as the capital of the Mongolian Empire during the 13th century. The Erdene Zuu monastery was built by Abtai Sain Khan, the grandfather of Saint Zanabazar, in 1586 as the first architectural example of a new style of Buddhism he founded called “Yellow” Buddhism. The monastery covers an area of about 400 square meters, surrounded by 108 stupas, outdoor monuments containing precious Buddhist relics, and has 3 main temples. At its height, there were 1000 resident monks and after its destruction in the 1930s, the government has slowly restored this monastery. It has been used as a museum since the 1960s. Overnight in a ger camp. (B, L, D)

Days 9 – 10: Khogno Khan Mountain
This natural spot is famous for its mixture of several types of terrain; ranging from the high rocky Khogno Khan Mountain to a small lake coexisting within the legendary Gobi sand dunes. The forest and steppe create a gorgeous landscape where local nomadic families live, breeding their horses and sheep. We’ll visit the old, picturesque Ovgon monastery where there will be good trekking and horseback riding. Overnight in ger camp. (B, L, D)

We return to the capital on mainly paved roads with enough time to shop or explore the city.
